Matriculation Programme Applications Are Now Open

This is a very good news for those who are waiting to apply for Matriculation programme for 2012/2013 session. Application for entry into the Matriculation Programme (2012/2013 session) under the Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM) is now open to all Form 5 students of 2011.

Read the following information for more details about this.

The Matriculation Programme offers
(a) Jurusan Sains,
(b) Jurusan Perakaunan, and
(c) Aliran Teknikal.
    
The Matriculation Programme takes
(a) two semesters for the Program Matrikulasi Satu Tahun (PST), and
(b) four semesters for the Program Matrikulasi Dua Tahun (PDT).
    
Two intakes are done in a year
(a) the May intake is for the PST.
(b) the June intake is for the PDT.
    
Requirements for Matriculation
(a) Applicants must be Malaysian
(b) A Bumiputera and non-Bumiputera under the age of 20 as of the 1st of January, 2012.
(c) Applicants must fulfill take up SPM subjects according to which stream they applied for in Matriculation.
– Jurusan Sains (M001) – Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics/Biology.
– Jurusan Perakaunan (M003) – Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and any two subjects from Prinsip Perakaunan, Ekonomi Asas, Perdagangan, Pengajian Keusahawanan, Science, Additional Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and technical subjects (Pengajian Kejuruteraan Awam / Pengajian Kejuruteraan Mekanikal / Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik & Elektronik Teknologi Kejuruteraan / Lukisan Kejuruteraan).

– Aliran Teknikal (M007) – Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, any one subject from Pengajian Kejuruteraan Awam / Pengajian Kejuruteraan Mekanikal / Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik & Elektronik / Teknologi Kejuruteraan.
    
Eligibility for PST
(a) Jurusan Sains – at least a C  in Bahasa Melayu, English, Additional Mathematics and Chemistry,
– at least a B in Mathematics, and
– at least a C in Physics or Biology

(b) Jurusan Perakaunan (M003) – at least a C in Bahasa Melayu, English and Mathematics,
– at least an E in Additional Mathematics,
– at least a C in two subjects from Prinsip Perakaunan, Ekonomi Asas, Keusahawanan, Perdagangan, Additional Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or technical subjects (Pengajian Kejuruteraan Awam / Pengajian Kejuruteraan Mekanikal Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik / Teknologi Kejuruteraan / Lukisan Kejuruteraan).

(c) Aliran Teknikal (M007) – at least a C in Bahasa Melayu, English, Additional Mathematics and Physics,
– at least a B in Mathematics, and
– at least an E in Chemistry.

* The above are the MINIMUM requirements for eligibility. Matriculation officers would usually pick the exceptional students who fulfill the basic requirements.
* Those who fail to get PST will will be considered for PDT.
    
Eligibility for PDT
(a) at least a C in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Chemistry,
(b) at least a D in Additional Mathematics, and
(c) at least a C in Physics, Biology or technical subjects (Pengajian Kejuruteraan Awam / Pengajian Kejuruteraan Mekanikal/ Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik / Teknologi Kejuruteraan)

Applicants can check the status of their applications through Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia in early or mid April 2012.
    
An offer letter will be given to successful applicants by the Bahagian Matrikulasi. They are to register at their respective matriculation colleges in May 2012.
    
Students are assigned to matriculation colleges by the Bahagian Matrikulasi Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia.
    
Unsuccessful applicants can make an appeal two weeks after the announcement of application results. They are likely to be given PDT instead.
    
Closing date of application: 10th October, 2011.
