Taylor’s Steps Up a Notch in Delivering Premier Education

Taylor’s University now stands among the ranks of elite organisations who have been awarded with the ISO 9001:2008 certification, for its Quality Management System.

Adopted in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISO quality system was developed in order to establish an internationally recognized standard of quality. It examines all processes of a product/service development lifecycle including: design, development, and technical support.

Being approved by SIRIM for its Quality Management Systems as well as ISO 9001:2008, a systematic framework is introduced as part of the certification to maintain consistency in Taylor’s service and quality to which the customers can be confident and well assured in the management system at Taylor’s University.

Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said, Vice Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University is confident that the ISO certification will further enhance customers’ trust and confidence towards Taylor’s effort in providing quality services to its customers through effective application of its quality management system for continual improvement; the assurance of conformity; and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

“Achieving ISO 9001:2008 is just one of our efforts in living up to the core purpose of producing graduates that will take their respective places as leaders in the global community. This accreditation falls in line with the government’s vision of making Malaysia an education hub as well as its aim to produce 60,000 PhD holders by 2020. With the ISO 9001:2008, we now rank among the premier universities in Malaysia that offer postgraduate studies in both Master and PhD,” said Professor Hassan.

The areas of ISO 9001:2008 standard applies not just to the area of service offered to customers, but also provides guidelines to the design, development, provision, and support on education programmes of Taylor’s. This proves that Taylor’s follows a strict standard procedure to deliver the highest quality and standard in their products and services.

The certification of ISO 9001:2008 fulfils the requirements set by the MQA as well, in ensuring that a systematic and high quality higher education experience is delivered to its students.
