Science and mathematics will continue to be taught in both English and Bahasa Malaysia until year 2015.
This is when the final batch of students in PPSMI (teaching of science and mathematics in English) programme completed their secondary education.

Guru Sandaran Tidak Terlatih (GSTT) 2011 back to work in April
All temporary teachers in Sabah whose stint as untrained attachment teachers (GSTT) ended last year would be able to resume teaching commencing next month.
Education director Datuk Dr. Muhiddin Yusin said they will be reinstated in three stages with the first batch of 109 teachers to be called to serve from April 1 onwards based on available vacancies in school across the state.
Another 350 GSTT will be reinstated in the second stage while the third and final batch of 101 teachers will be able to commence teaching by as early as June 1.
"The number of GSTT in Sabah whose services have ended and not terminated, was 578 teachers as of December 31 last year and all of them will be reinstated to fill the vacant positions left by teachers who were transferred to places outside Sabah" he said.
Congratulation to all GSTT teacher. All the best to you.

Student sitting for SPM, SPMU must register before 31 March 2011
The dateline for registeration of private candidates sitting for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Ulangan (SPMU) will end on March 31, 2011.
The Education Ministry in a statement yesterday said registeration forms for private candidates can be obtained from their respective state Education Departments.
The statement said all private candidates must register within the dateline period because late registeration will not be entertained.

Para pelajar yang telah menduduki peperiksaan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2010 adalah dipelawa untuk mendapatkan tajaan Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) atau Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) bagi mengikuti pengajian di bawah Program Ijazah Luar Negara (PILN) tahun 2011.
Calon-calon yang berjaya dipilih bagi Program Ijazah Luar Negara dikehendaki mengikuti kursus persediaan di kolej-kolej yang ditetapkan di dalam negara sebelum mengikuti pengajian di luar negara. Pelajar-pelajar cemerlang yang berminat dan terpilih di bawah program ini adalah digalakkan untuk mengikuti pengajian di dalam negara dan akan ditempatkan di Institut Pengajian Tinggi Tempatan atau Universiti Luar Negara kampus Malaysia.
Calon-calon yang berjaya dipilih bagi Program Ijazah Luar Negara dikehendaki mengikuti kursus persediaan di kolej-kolej yang ditetapkan di dalam negara sebelum mengikuti pengajian di luar negara. Kemasukan Politeknik Sesi Julai 2011
Jabatan Pengajian Politeknik, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) mempelawa calon-calon yang berkelayakan untuk memohon untuk mengikuti program pengajian peringkat sijil, diploma dan diploma lanjutan di Politeknik KPT bagi sesi Julai 2011.
Politeknik KPT menawarkan program pengajian di peringkat diploma dan diploma lanjutan termasuk program sijil kemahiran kepada calon berkeperluan khas. Ketika ini terdapat sebanyak 54 program peringkat diploma dan 4 program peringkat diploma lanjutan ditawarkan di 27 politeknik seluruh negara.
Pengambilan pelajar ke Politeknik KPT diadakan 2 kali setahun. Pengambilan pertama di pertengahan tahun manakala pengambilan kedua di hujung tahun berkenaan. Pengambilan pelajar ke Politeknik KPT diadakan 2 kali setahun. Pengambilan pertama di pertengahan tahun manakala pengambilan kedua di hujung tahun berkenaan. Politeknik KPT menyediakan 51,000 tempat pengajian untuk lulusan SPM, lulusan Sijil Politeknik KPT, lulusan Sijil Kolej Komuniti KPT dan pelajar berkepeluan khas (masalah pendengaran) lulusan Sekolah Pendidikan Khas kelolaan Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia pada setiap tahun bagi mengikuti pelbagai program tersebut.
Kategori Politeknik
Politeknik dibahagikan kepada 3 kategori :
Faedah Pelaksanaan Sekolah Satu Sesi Kurangkan Gejala Sosial Pelajar
Dikatakan bahawa terdapat banyak faedah pelaksanaan sekolah satu sesi di Malaysia kurangkan gejala sosial pelajar. Kerajaan disaran melaksanakan waktu persekolahan satu sesi dari jam 8 pagi hingga 4 petang dengan memperkenalkan jadual kerja anjal untuk guru supaya tidak menanggung beban kerja berlebihan.
Pengerusi Panel Penasihat Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan, Tan Sri Dr Abdul Rahman Arshad, berkata jadual persekolahan selama lapan jam itu dapat memenuhi waktu harian pelajar secara berkualiti, selain mengelakkan mereka daripada terjebak dengan gejala sosial.
Melalui pelaksanaan itu, pentadbiran sekolah boleh menyusun pelbagai aktiviti berfaedah untuk mengisi jadual waktu petang setiap hari tanpa membebankan pelajar dengan pembelajaran akademik semata-mata. Antaranya, pelajar boleh menjalani aktiviti sukan dan kokurikulum, menyiapkan kerja rumah di bawah bimbingan dan pemantauan guru, mengikuti kelas tambahan bagi melonjakkan prestasi pencapaian mereka atau memasuki kelas pemulihan untuk mereka yang memerlukan bantuan.

Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies 2011
This scholarship offers a 5 to 7 years bachelor degree course (inclusive of 1 year intensive Japanese language course) that commences from April 2012.
Application Process:
1. March: Submit application form by due date.
2. May - June: Written examination. Only successful candidates will be notified to sit for the examination (tentatively on 29 May 2011).
3. July: Interview. Only successful candidates will be notified to attend the interview.
4. August: Nomination to Tokyo Headquarters.
5. January - February 2012: Notification of nomination result (final result).
6. April: Depart to Japan.
Criteria
* Applicants must be Malaysians between 17 and 22 years of age as of 1st April 2012 (i.e. born between 2nd April 1990 and 1st April 1995).
* Applicants must have completed SPM or O-Level with at least 11 years of formal education (EXCLUDING REMOVE CLASS).
* STPM students (lower / upper) and those who will sit for A-Level, UEC, Matriculation or Diploma examination this year may also apply (provided that the results will be known by March 2012).
* Applicants must have good command of English with excellent results in other major subjects.
* Applicants with prior knowledge of the Japanese language will have added advantage.
* A (SPM/ UEC / Matriculation / A-Level) or B+ (STPM) or CGPA 3.4 and above (Diploma), in English / MUET (5 or 6), Mathematics, Chemistry & Physics / Biology for those applying for Natural Science courses.
* A (SPM/ UEC / Matriculation / A-Level) or B+ (STPM) or CGPA 3.4 and above (Diploma) in English / MUET (5 or 6) & Mathematics for those applying for Social Science & Humanities courses.
* Applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language and receive university education in the Japanese language.

* Applicants must be Malaysian citizens below 26 years of age as of 1st January 2011.
* Must possess good results in SPM / A-Level / STPM / UEC or other equivalent qualifications.
* Must be active in sports and extra-curricular activities.
* Must not be bonded or in receipt of any financial aid or rewards from other educational organizations or institutions.
* Must produce original copies of the examination results and all other relevant documents during the interview.
* Must meet the minimum requirement set by the Colleges / Universities in order to be qualified for selection.
