This is a good news for students and parents those who applied for Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) Tingkatan 1 2012, Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) 2012 result is out. You can check the result by using your UPSR's Angka Giliran.

You may now check the result from 14th December 2011 until 5th January 2012.

Students may check the SBP 2012 result online through Aplikasi Semakan Tawaran Ke Tingkatan 1 SBP Sesi 2012 Ambilan Pertama

Students withe unsuccessful application, there is still a chances for you to enroll into SBP. You may submit online appeal (rayuan) through online through Sistem e-Rayuan SBP Tingkatan 1 Sesi 2012.

The e-Rayuan submission/application will be closed on 5th January 2012. Please submit before the closing date or your appeal/rayuan will not be entertained.

Reading's plans follow recent announcements from Lancaster University, which will partner with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies to open a campus in China, and the University of Nottingham, which has begun talks on a Shanghai branch that would be its third overseas campus.

Miri – 30 November 2011 - Students completing their SPM and STPM this year need not wait for their results next year to enrol in Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak). PERTH, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- The Education Ministry will study Australia's intensive English language course with a view to making it a model in strengthening the teaching of the language in Malaysia, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

Describing Australia's model as a good example, Muhyiddin said the ministry would look into whether it was in line with Malaysia's policy on upholding the Malay language and strengthening the command of English.

Muhyiddin, who is Education Minister, said based on Australia's experience, the ministry would look into the possibility of adding more contents to the English language subject at the pre-school level, for a start.

Temp teachers deserve protection

PETALING JAYA: The 7,000 temporary teachers whose benefits have been withdrawn will not be protected in the event of an emergency, according to the National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP).

NUTP secretary-general Lok Yim Pheng said that removing their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions will not protect them under the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

“Who is going to protect these teachers if an accident happened? We appeal to the government to give them their EPF so they would benefit from Socso,” she told FMT.

Lok was referring to the move by the Education Ministry to stop EPF contributions, bonuses, maternity and other basic benefits from being given to temporary teachers.

Supporting education

The Grace Centre is a school run by the Basel Christian Church Malaysia which gives underprivileged children the opportunity to have an education. Teams from Logos Hope visited the school to meet the pupils and tell them about the work of the ship.

Later when a storm blew the roof off the porch of one of the school’s buildings, crewmembers went back to help clean up the damage. The team spent four hours clearing out from the porch everything that had been damaged by the rain.

Malaysian student in East Java dies

JAKARTA -- A Malaysian student at the Brawijaya University in Malang, East Java, died last night at a hospital in the province.

Education attache at Education Malaysia Indonesia, Ludinata Misnun, said the student, Theven Adrian Joseph, 20, died due to a health reason at Dinoyo Islamic Hospital.

"He was believed to have suffered from a seizure. He was rushed to the hospital where he was given a cardiopulmonary resuscitation and put on a respirator but he could not be saved," he said in a statement, here.
