Shell Malaysia Scholarships Application Form, Apply Online Now!

Shell Malaysia is offering for local and overseas scholarship opportunity to those interested and qualified students. Every year, a number of scholarships are offered to support students in achieving their personal goals and ambitions. Malaysian students planning to pursue full-time undergraduate studies tenable at recognized universities in Malaysia or Overseas are eligible to apply.

Also on offer are two post graduate scholarships at University Technology Petronas. Applications for the Shell Malaysia Scholarships are now open, disabled students are encouraged to apply.

This is open to students who will be undertaking full time first degree courses at the preferred Malaysian and JPA approved international universities based in Malaysia.

Preferred Degree Discipline

Student who are applying for this scholarship should take the following preferred degree discipline.
a. Technical – Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering and Civil/Structural Engineering.
b. Non-Technical – namely Finance, IT, Human Resource.
*Students with physical disabilities (Orang Kurang Upaya) are not restricted in their choice and may apply to do a degree in any discipline.

Eligibility

• Strong leadership skills and active participation in extracurricular activities such as societies and clubs, sports, etc.
• Not presently holding other scholarship/loans.
• Disabled Identification Card certified by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (where applicable)
• Consistently strong academic achievements as follows:

For Undergraduate studies

– Strong academic results in the STPM (minimum 3A+ or A- & 1B) or A-Levels (minimum 2A’s & 1B)
– Minimum of 3.5 CGPA at Matriculation / Diploma level

How to apply

Applications may be submitted based on the latest semester results (for Matriculation, Diploma and ‘A’ Levels students) or trial examination results (for STPM students).

Students will go through the following steps

Step 1 – Online Application

a. Create an account, or login via an existing account
b. Complete the required information.
c. Apply and upload the latest version of your CV/résumé
Before submitting your application you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire.

Step 2 – Online Logics Ability Test

*For both overseas and local scholarship

If your application is successful, you will receive an e-mail notification with instructions on how to complete the Ability Test which will be conducted within a month from the closing date.

The Ability Test will take approximately 12 minutes to complete and will not be timed.  Once completed, you’ll receive an email notification with the outcome.

* NOTE: must be completed and submitted within 7 working days before the links within the e-mails you receive expire.

Step 3 – An Interview

*For both overseas and local scholarship

Once you have submitted the online assessment we will review the results before contacting you to discuss a potential interview.

The interview will take place either face-to-face or over the telephone. This is an opportunity for you to tell us more about your motivations for applying, your achievements, the challenges you’ve faced and how you’ve demonstrated the qualities we’re looking for.

For Local Scholarship, upon successfully passing your interview we will select top best candidates based on the interview results. You will be notified separately whether you are successful or not.

For Overseas Scholarship, upon successfully passing your interview you could see yourself attending the Mini Shell Recruitment Day, the final stage of the assessment process.

Step 4 – Mini Shell Recruitment Day

*For Overseas Scholarship Only

Following success in the first-stage interview, you will attend an assessed, interactive activities where you’ll be given further insights into our global businesses.

You will complete a range of assessed exercises which include a case study, group discussion, and final interview.

Step 5 – Offer

For Local Scholarships, upon successfully passing the  interview

For Overseas Scholarship, upon successfully passing your assessment in the Shell Recruitment Day, we will select top best candidates based on the Shell Recruitment Review interview results.

* NOTE: During the application and assessment process you will be assessed on the following CAR criteria :

a. Capacity
How well you absorb information, analyse problems, make fact-based decisions, and propose innovative solutions.

b. Achievement
How well you get things done (your drive, resilience, self-confidence, and organisational skills).

c. Relationships
How well you work in teams, communicate, and respect others.
